presents the
Greater St. Louis Area Modeling and Fashion Industry Explorer Post

In the late Fall of 2002 Mr. Jeremy Rowland, Exploring Executive of The Greater St. Louis Area Council of Boy Scouts of America, approached LindaLee, Founder and Director of Model Resource Group, with the concept of starting an Explorer Post for the modeling and fashion industry. Explorers is a division of The Boy Scouts of America dedicated to helping young adults (male & female ages 14-20) explore career choices and develop leadership skills in a complex and highly competitive world.

LindaLee started Model Resource Group in 1994 as a professional organization consisting of aspiring models working together and sharing resources, knowledge and experiences in order to build their own and each other's career. Professionals from related industries were invited to come in and speak to the group. MRG members produced fashion shows showcasing St. Louis and national designers. MRG was listed in the phone book and info about prospective jobs was passed on to MRG members, without charging a commission. Over the years LindaLee documented what she experienced. She saw what worked and what didn't work for herself and for others. She learned all that she could about the industry. She became an expert in her field and one of St. Louis' top, most regularly working models. Through Model Resource Group LindaLee helps other people learn about and get into the fashion and commercial modeling industry, without getting burned.

For the past eight years LindaLee has represented the fashion and commercial modeling industry for the Public Schools Eighth Grader Career Fair. She has also frequently represented the industry at the Rockwood School District Career Fair, at Ladue High School, at The Girl Scout Council of Greater St. Louis modeling and fashion events, and at several St. Louis area churches. LindaLee herself has modeled for many top St. Louis local, national, and international corporations and companies including AG Edwards, Monsanto, Maritz, Enterprise Leasing, McDonald's, Anheuser-Busch, Barnes/Jewish/Children's Hospital Complex, MasterCard, Edward Jones, the Veterans Administration, Maytag, and the St. Louis Science Center, just to name a few. You can also see LindaLee on the cover of the March 2003 edition of St. Louis Magazine. You can find out about LindaLee's newest company, A Coalition of Independent Models, in the December 2003 issue of St. Louis Magazine.

The Modeling and Fashion Industry Explorer Post #9334 officially began meeting in January of 2003 and has become an integral part of Model Resource Group's ongoing effort to provide practical knowledge and experience to people interested in modeling and related industries. The group meets every Monday from 7:00pm until 9:00pm at the beautiful, historic Soulard Coffee Garden, 910 Geyer Ave. (314 241-1464). At this point, the adult advisers from Model Resource Group are all volunteers. The advisers' primary purpose is to help aspiring young models and fashion designers to help themselves. The Modeling and Fashion Industry Explorer Post is a not-for-profit organization created to help the youth of America learn about and gain real life experience in the modeling and fashion industry. Work ethics, self-motivation, professionalism, and leadership skills are stressed. Financial support for this Post and for the projects it undertakes is to be arranged through sponsorships, grants, and fund raising activities. Please join us in this epic joint adventure.
